Leading Interior Designer John P. Regas,
leaving his mark throughout the nation
His day begins with a breakfast meeting
at 7:00 with a client. By 10:00 am he's already been to four client apartments and
he's on his way to the airport to catch a flight to Florida, where he's got a full
afternoon of meetings and appointments scheduled. In between, he may visit an
antique store or two, trying to find a chandelier for this client, or an end table for
that client-- or any item that will finish a project with his famous "personal
touch."
Meet John P. Regas, undoubtedly one of Chicago's-- and the
nation's--most well-known interior designers. You won¹t find his company's
advertisements in design magazines and industry periodicals. No, not this one.
For over three decades, Regas' company has relied on referals from satisfied repeat
customers. To this day, Regas admits, he has never given away a business card-- as a
matter of fact, he's never even had any printed.
His projects include a diverse collection of multi-million dollar
mansions, hospitals, office and commercial spaces, chic apartments-- even interior work on
one client's brand new jet airplane... and the hangar it will be stored in. Each project
is more impressive than the next. His clients are among the nation's most prominent
families and large corporations. Although the reach of his imagination may be wide
enough to embrace all eras, at his core, Regas' design is instinctively Classical and
